Depending on the context, it can have several interpretations. To begin with, the verb can come from pimp in its meaning of beautiful, well compounded, or ruffian, pimp, or arrogant, boastful, . . . and the prefix a- is not necessarily negative, sometimes it can consolidate the formation of the verb.
