1. f. plant of the family of the Tifáceas, that grows in places swampy, up to two meters in height, with cylindrical stems, and without knots, envainadoras for base leaves, ensiformes, and solid and hairy spike-shaped flowers, the lower half of which is male and female superior. Its leaves are used to make seating of chairs, hems, etc.
2. f. Reed Mace (? tifácea plant).
