In Mexico it is one of the names of a medicinal plant. It is used as a healing agent and to cure gastritis. It also receives the names of chalalate, coachalalate, cuachalala or volador. Its scientific name is Amphipterygium adstringens and it belongs to the Anacardiaceae family.
